We created AudioDizer because we were trying to get more use out of our iPod. Simply having music wasn't compelling enough when there is so much content available on the web. We wanted to get all our latest news, sports, weather, magazine articles, and so on, synched up and ready to go on our iPod.
So, we decided to use text-to-speech in a creative format to produce podcasts. By using multiple voices, different accents, and music we were able to enhance the listening experience. These features were revolutionary for podcasting using text-to-speech as most programs only allow you to listen to the text without personalizing or improving the experience in any way. We experimented with different styles and tried to emulate a radio show like NPR. We played the files for our friends and colleagues and they loved it!
Now we are focused on creating new channels of distribution for traditional media content. Whether its audio, images, or video we want to deliver content to users in a format they want, when they want it. AudioDizer is just the first step.
